The company cited rising operational costs and the need to continue investing in improved features and content for users.<\/p>\n<p>Spotify\u2019s costs have gone up significantly, especially related to employee salaries and taxes, which they refer to as &#8220;social charges.&#8221; They also want to maintain profitability while enhancing the user experience.<\/p>\n<h2>What\u2019s Happening Behind the Scenes?<\/h2>\n<p>Even though Spotify\u2019s global revenue grew around 10% recently, it still posted a loss due to high expenses. This price hike is meant to help balance those costs.<\/p>\n<p>In India, this marks the first price change since Spotify launched here more than six years ago.
